Cookie Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the Signifer Group website (the “Website”) uses, for what purpose, and how you can manage them.
This policy should be read together with the separate Privacy Policy available via the “Privacy Policy” link on the Website, which covers our data processing practices beyond cookies.

2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow a website to recognise your browser, remember certain settings, or collect statistical information about your visit.
Cookies do not, by themselves, directly identify a visitor, but in some cases (e.g. combined with an IP address or a unique identifier) they may qualify as personal data under the GDPR.
3. Which cookies does the Website use?
The Website currently uses the following cookie categories and technologies - see the table under point 4 for the exact list:
4. Cookie overview table
| Cookie / service | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| signifer_cookie_consent | Necessary | Stores your cookie consent preferences (which categories you accepted). | 180 days |
| Google reCAPTCHA (_GRECAPTCHA and related cookies) | Necessary / functional | Protects the contact form against automated (bot) submissions (the “I'm not a robot” check). | Set by the provider (Google), typically up to 6 months. |
| Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) | Analytics (consent-based) | Traffic statistics, to understand and improve use of the Website. Only loads with the visitor's consent. | Set by the provider (Google), typically up to 2 years. |
| WordPress core cookies (e.g. login, security nonce) | Necessary | Secure operation of the WordPress engine and admin area - only appear in editors' browsers, not regular visitors'. | Session / a few days - per WordPress core defaults. |
5. Legal basis
Necessary / functional cookies: these are indispensable for providing a service you have explicitly requested (e.g. the secure operation of the contact form). Under Section 155/A(4) of Hungarian Act C of 2003 on Electronic Communications (“Eht.”), such cookies do not require prior consent, as they are strictly necessary to provide the requested service.
Analytics cookies: the legal basis for these is your voluntary, informed, prior consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a) (Eht. Section 155/A(4)). Until you grant consent via the cookie banner, these cookies remain inactive.
6. Managing your consent - the cookie banner
On your first visit, a cookie banner at the bottom of the page lets you choose: accept all cookies (“Accept All”), allow only necessary cookies (“Necessary Only”), or customise your choice per category (“Settings”).
You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer.
Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie named “signifer_cookie_consent”, used solely to remember your preferences, for a maximum of 180 days.
7. Disclosure to third parties
Google reCAPTCHA: operated by Google Ireland Limited (and its parent company, Google LLC, USA). Loading and using the widget may transfer data (e.g. IP address, browser characteristics) to Google's servers. Transfers to the United States rely on Google's own GDPR-compliant contractual safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses). More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Analytics 4: a service of Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, loaded only with your consent. The legal basis and safeguards for data transfer are the same as described above.
8. Browser settings
You can also restrict or block cookies via your browser settings (usually under “Settings” > “Privacy” / “Cookies”). Please note that blocking certain cookies (e.g. the necessary/functional category) may prevent some features of the Website (e.g. the contact form) from working correctly.
9. Your rights and remedies
Under the GDPR you have the right to: request access to your data, request rectification or erasure, request restriction of processing, object to processing, and - where processing is based on consent - withdraw your consent at any time without giving a reason (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal).
To exercise your rights, or with any privacy-related question, you may contact the Controllers via the form in the “Get in Touch” section of the Website, or the Data Protection Officer of Griffsoft Informatikai Zrt.: dpo@griffsoft.hu.
If you believe the processing violates the GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH): address: 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9-11., Hungary; postal address: 1363 Budapest, Pf.: 9., Hungary; phone: +36 (1) 391-1400; email: ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu; website: www.naih.hu. You may also bring a claim before the competent court.
10. Changes to this policy
The Controllers reserve the right to amend this policy, in particular if the cookies used on the Website change. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we will re-display the cookie banner to request your consent again.
